About Me

When I was around 7 years old my Mum and Dad took me to a concert. A classical concert. With a choir. No-one knows why they thought this was a good idea since I was a fidgety child, however, the choir entranced me, and I sat still for probably the first time in my life and listened. I knew then that I wanted to sing with them, to be like them, to make such glorious sounds that filled my soul and made me feel connected to everyone
there. A few years later they introduced a ‘training choir’ to which I auditioned and was admitted at 10 years old. I graduated from that to Cantamus Girl’s Choir when I was 13 and have sung ever since. The choir trained young
women to sing, and to interpret music emotionally, to convey with art and joy information that was captured sometimes hundreds of years ago, sometimes only that year.

As many of us do, I drifted from my calling when I entered the world of paid employment, although I was blessed with a great feeling of connectedness similar to how I experience music as I worked at sea for 17 years, so it wasn’t a complete washout (forgive the pun).

Now that I am a Vocal Teacher I am passionate about helping people learn to sing in all styles, and I bring a wealth of life experience to bear when we’re interpreting music so that you can share the artistry you feel in the music with others.
